Clean tone blending to overdrive
Rybol 03.10.2022
Nice little amp but there is a fault. Clean tone signal is blending to overdrive channel. It's looks like is common problem with this amp, regarding some user reviews Returned

T
One Trick Pony that is too Loud for Home Use
Tom84uk 09.01.2026
Having owned this for nearly 8 months, I feel I need to update my review. Initially I was impressed with the tone this little amp can produce and my review mirrored most of the others singing its praises.

Yes it is a very good budget metal amp, However I bought this for home/bedroom use, and it is just way too loud for that purpose. The volume goes from silent, to extremely loud, with the smallest movement of the volume knob. So it’s impossible to get the best out of this amp for home use which is a real shame. At quiet volumes it doesn’t sound great, it needs to be pushed to get any value out of it.

The clean channel is ok, but there are better options out there in this price range. So the amp really is a one trick pony – and that’s when I started to question if it’s really worth keeping.
The Harley Benton ‘Extreme Metal’ Pedal (Also made by Joyo) can be dialled in to get almost exactly the same tone as this amp, at a fraction of the cost, and at acceptable volumes you can play in your home. The pedal actually sounds a lot better at low volumes than this amp does.

Another really annoying thing about this amp, is that it’s really lightweight, so it slides around whenever you touch it. And requires 2 hands for plugging anything in. This may sound trivial but it becomes super annoying after a while.

In the end I just stopped using it, it didn’t fit my purpose as a home/bedroom amp. I bought a Hiwatt amp at the same price point as this Zombie II. It has an amazing clean channel, very decent crunch, and built in reverb – and then I use the pedal for high gain metal tones. It’s awesome and so much more fun to play!
After a lot of trial and error I finally found the perfect budget home rig that sounds great and does everything I need.

So this is just my experience with the Bantamp Zombie II. If you’re after a small budget metal amp that can fit in a bag, or you're able to play at higher volumes, then I don’t think you can do much better in this price range. Unfortunately it just wasn't for me.
