Pretty cool if you have a specific sound in mind
I bought it because I got caught up in the lie that a better preamp will somehow improve your song quality - but honestly I wasn't impressed and ended up selling it. Yes, it does saturate nicely when pushed but I found that using plugins to get that "analogue warmth" worked much better and was much less fiddly. I now prefer to record clean and do the sound enhancing stuff with plugins.
But the build quality is great and it does sound good. It is a different sound than your stock preamp but it just depends on if you want that specific tone. To me it made the high end more pronounced and tightened up the low end (a sound which I realized I didn't really care for).
