it just works
wyntrblue 30.12.2025
so i have been using this to mix my wife and my audio for streaming now for about 6 months,

i really like this. for someone who doesnt want all the technical to get a reliable setup this is great.

the audio quality is good. we have found that once we had the levels setup for our mics and environment we havent touched those settings again.
the 2 audio outputs is also a nice touch.

i dislike the 48v phantom power button is on the back of the device as i use a laptop i have to turn it on PER MIC each time i power off the vocaster.

i have not tried the bluetooth functionality.

the software is "good enough" however i did need to increase the buffer size to 1024 due to wierd audio issues.

would i buy this again? yes 100%. for what i need this is actually a perfect device. if you want advanced features this isnt for you. but if you are a small podcaster or streamer this will tick all your boxes.

Perfect without a computer too

The Vocaster Two makes a perfect stage box for speech based applications (Presentations, Quizzes, Comedy, Poetry, Bingo) in a small venue where a computer is not needed.

I mounted the one I purchased on the wall of a pub in the 'stage' area, plugged into the house PA. This was to solve the problem of guest presenters not being able to use traditional mixing desks (gain staging, eq, fx etc). As a musician I thought everybody knows how to use a mixing desk but apparently not. The 'beginner podcaster' nature of the Vocaster Two translates perfectly to 'guest presenter' needs.

With the Vocaster two, they just plug in a mic and it remembers the settings such as my chosen 'Bright' mode to clean up mic handling noise and dynamics.

The Bluetooth feature is needed for presenters to play background music etc.

I used the Vocaster Hub software to set some defaults like the mix level between loopback/3.5mm aux and the mics. Note that the BT level can not be fixed as that is always set via the host device's volume level. The ability to set the DSP per channel to the correct one and it not be changeable via the devices buttons is a bonus.

I did put label tape all over it it to rename host/guest to MIC1, MIC2, and the left knob to be named 'MAIN OUT' so that it looked more stage centric than podcast centric.

This would also work in a small board-room / presentation room as great value way of adding a couple of radio mics for audience participation etc.

So whilst the whole podcasting fad is over, don't overlook this device for other applications!

There's lots of reviews around so go look at those. As to ordering this from Thomann: the included USB cable was faulty and Thomann replaced it as fast as reasonably possible. Excellent experience.
