They usually require a 47Ω resistor.

I'm powering 2 of them in parallel with the Precision Devices PD.615C002.8 and a cheap 8Ω 15-inch woofer using the LM386 at 15 volts (the N-4 version), which prefers 16Ω loads or higher (otherwise it overheats) - but when I short the 47Ω resistor I get serious audio problems.
