This drumhead may look like it's only for heavy hitters because of the 2‑plies and the large center dot, but it's actually very versatile.
The Aquarian coating coupled with the center dot are tough and do a great job resisting dents, wear, and yellowing. The center dot itself is not just a mylar patch, it's fiber reinforced, adding even more durability.
Sound-wise, it delivers fat, powerful backbeats where overtones bloom in a controlled way while ghost notes remain dry. Despite the extra mass and damping, it's surprisingly sensitive.
I use it on a metal (brass) snare tuned medium-high, and it performs great in that range. Single-ply heads started to choke and getting thin at this tuning, but this one stays open, fat and musical.
Powerful, sensitive, and slightly compressed in a good way. Highly recommended if that's the kind of sound you're after.
